Isit parents beat children consider as violent??

2day i have a meeting wif CS drama group member, n wanna produce out a sad story drama. so they wan to have a story line where a kids naughty n the mom beat him, but then the commitee say that is violent...can't show up, will give bad influent to audience...

is that call violent?? if so, isit now all the parents oso call violent if they beat children?? then v can call to police to sue parents?? or????
