My First Day At Work

Hi again! I was supposed to write this yesterday after I got back from work but exhaustion overtook me. So, I'll just blog briefly about it now.

I didn't really properly introduced myself when I first blogged and I guess there are many questions which you all have about me. Who is this mysterious Lincoln whom Milly has been talking so much about? Well, the mystery is now unveiled, though I guess you'll still have lots of questions after this.

I'm in my final year doing a course in Electronics Engineering Majoring in Computer at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya Campus. I come from Penang and am currently doing my industrial training here in Penang with Syabas Technology, a company in Gurney Tower (mind you, it's not Gurney Plaza). Hmmm....So much for a brief introduction. If you want to know more about me, just ask. I'll be glad to introduce myself in more detail. Would like to get to know you all more too. I've promised Milly that I would join you all for bloggers meeting once I come back from industrial training.

Well, my first day of work was kinda ok. Was rather tiring though. I arrived 15 minutes before I was supposed to report in. My other intern colleagues were already there. There's four of us. Two of us are from the Cyberjaya Campus and the other two are from the Melaka Campus. While waiting for the HR Manager to arrive, we watched star wars III at the waiting room.

The HR Manager is very friendly. She introduced us to everyone in the company and showed us around. Then we were assigned to our workstations. We were each given a computer to work with.

Each of us were assigned to a supervisor who gave us each individual assignments. I was assigned to come up with a programming module for an application for the company's customer. I have to say that by now, I have forgotten most of my knowledge in C Programming. So throughout the day, I've been searching for resource on it. Though searching online may sound easy, it's more tiring than I thought.

As soon as I reached home and had my dinner, I felt like collapsing already. Hmmm....maybe I'm not yet used to the lifestyle of working. :P After printing some notes to read and chatting for a while with Sis, I went to sleep. Couldn't even read anymore that time. Then this morning woke up at 7:30 and got ready for work again.

I guess those who are working are able to relate with what I'm trying to bring forth here. Wake up in the morning, go to work, come back in the evening, have dinner, sleep, wake up in the morning.....and the cycle goes on.... :P.

I feel very privilged to be in this company because they gave us interns "real jobs" which real staff do. My other friends from other companies were telling me that they were treated like office boys. Of course there were others who were also as privileged as I am. I believe that it's going to be a very good experience working here.

Alright, I guess this is it for now. It's time to go home already.
